--AdrianBirch 19:34, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Firstly go into Server Admin
Click on > for your server, then click on Settings
Click on General Tab then do as shown:
Click on Services Tab and do as shown (probably do not need iChat or Ical):
but must have Open Directory, Podcast Producer, Push Notification, Web and Xgrid
On left hand Panel, click on Podcast Producer, then click on 'Configure Podcast Producer'
We will choose Express Setup ( a mere 7 clicks). Click on Continue.
Ensure settings are correct then Click on Continue.
Provide credentials (notice username: diradmin). Click on Continue.
Read the Summary. Click on Done.
Note the Podcast Library URL and the Podcast Capture Web URL. Then click on 'Configure Podcast Producer'. This can take come time due to DNS lookups.
You should now see the Welcome page.
[edit] 2 Configuring Podcast Capture
Double click on the Podcast Capture icon on the Dock (looks like a webcam - note that is does NOT have a a serated edge). If you cannot see the Podcast Capture icon, check in Finder->Applications (or maybe Applications->Utilities).
Then select the server name form the drop-down box and enter the appropriate username and password (for reasons of simplicity I used the admin account). Click on Continue.
You should now see the 4 Podcast Capture possibilities: Choose video.
You should now see an image of yourself moving around. Click on the red icon to start recording. Wave your hands around and say 'Hello Mum'. When about 10 seconds have passed click on the red icon to stop recording. Click on Publish.
Enter some appropriate metadata and click on Submit.
Clicking on the arrow will bring up a popup. That is all for Podcast Capture.
[edit] 3 Using Xgrid Admin
Before we look at Xgrid Admin remember you can always check the RSS feeds for jobs that have successfully completed.
Now double click on the Xgrid Admin icon (the pile of 5 balls). If you cannot see the Xgrid Admin icon, check in Finder->Applications (or maybe Applications->Utilities).
The name of your controller should be in the drop-down box. Click on Connect.
Use single sign-on credentials. Click on OK.
Remember that the Open Directory admin username (diradmin in our case). Enter the username@server-name and click on Continue.
OOPS. Remember that the Open Directory admin username (diradmin in our case).
Click on Overview so that you can see that one job is being processes (the Podcast Capture job we started in the previous section).
Click on Jobs and watch the progress of your job.
Double clicking on the job name will show you the log for that job.
