OAS: The type vocabulary in our understanding describes the variety of rich media and will probably play an important role in future audiovisual repositories as they wil be enriched by say "Image" or "Text". With regard to the types we basically see three of them in an academic setting: "Moving image" and "Sound" for the actual recordings and "Event" for a collection of items (e.g. lecture, conference). We chose "Event" over "Collection" as we could relate these to the EDNA Events metadata application profile [1] (from Australia) with some typical academic event types.
