This is a clarification of the use of
, particularly when used with scheme="http://purl.org/steeple/credit "

We understand
to contains human readable credits. Names given in media credit are formatted as follows:

Jim Smith
Prof. J. Smith
Prof. Dr. Jim James Jimmy Smith-Jones
Jim McLeod Smith-Jones
Sir Jim Smith von Jones
Jim Smith Jr.

Do not use title after the name (i.e. do not use "Jim Smith PhD"), all titles should go before the name. Use abbreviated versions of honorific titles where possible with ".", such as

 • Prof.
 • Dr.
 • Dipl.-Eng.
 • Sir, Baron, Lady

Affiliation can be put into a final bracket, that is understood to not be part of the name.

Jim Smith (University of Cambridge)

Urls can be added, use "," to separate items.

Jim Smith (University of Cambridge http://www.cam.ac.uk, home page http://www.cam.ac.uk/..../Jim_Smith)

We are using a new scheme, http://purl.org/steeple/credit, that has roles appropriate for academic media production, including

 • presenter / lecturer
 • interviewee
 • moderator
