[edit] 1 A proposal for a common (use of a) syndication format
Current syndication formats (such as rss and atom) are limited in certain ways regarding handling audio-visual media. The yahoo media enclosure fixes many of these issues, but while it is an existing standard and is widely understood by feed parsers and aggregators, it is not widely used in higher education.
This set of pages puts forward a proposal for a common syndication format. More precisely, it puts forward a proposal for a common use of yahoo media within rss/atom. The idea is the same as the ideas behind the CSSF and the Metadata scheme comparison. Rationale for the choices can be found in the syndication pages on the SMN wiki, and at Metadata scheme comparison.
The pages in the menu inside this box go through the various proposals!
or you can read for the impatient!
