[edit] 1 Mission statement
The content of this section on Syndication contributes to the workpackages within the JISC-funded Steeple project. However, these contents were also relevant to the Opencast project, and the Steeple effort on Syndication is now a joint effort between Steeple and Opencast.
The aim of this group is to define a syndication format, that can be used to exchange detailed information about audio-visual objects between institutions (and between applications) in a robust way. Rather than re-inventing a new format, we closely align our efforts with RSS/Atom/Yahoo Media, and seek to make only minimal additions to those existing standards.
The work is closely related to the work of the Metadata scheme comparison group.
