[edit] 1 Description of abstract element: Contributor
Examples of a Contributor include a person, an organization, or a service. Typically, the name of a Contributor should be used to indicate the entity. An entity responsible for making contributions to the resource
2 Discussion of contributor [add to discussion, edit discussion]
[edit] 2.1 Extended scheme
– NEEDS EXTENDED SCHEME. People are important, and we need to have a scheme that defines contributors.
[edit] 2.2 Bjoern 11:34, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Use <media:credit> scheme. (more discussion here)
Atom and FOAF might be helpful too, but I think I prefer media credit.
For a scheme, see feeds/credit
[edit] 2.3 Matterhorn scheme
Contributors are people making a contribution to the resource, they have a minor role in its creation though. So while lectures will be created by an instructor, there might be smaller contributions from others - these are contributors. If, however, we have a guest speaker during one lecture, he or she is not contributing, but the creator.
3 Expression of contributor in various schemes [Edit properties]
As xml in Matterhorn xml and rss/atom:
<Dcterms:contributor> ... contributor ... </Dcterms:contributor>
<Media:Credit Role="..." scheme="http://purl.org/steeple/credit"> ... contributor ... </Media:Credit>
<Media:Credit Role="..." scheme="http://purl.org/steeple/credit"> ... contributor ... </Media:Credit>
Full table:
| name | number | MH xml | RSS (with Yahoo/Steeple) | attributes | Atom (with Yahoo/Steeple) | attr |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Contributor | 55 | Dcterms:contributor | Media:Credit | Role="..." scheme="http://purl.org/steeple/credit" | Media:Credit | Role="..." scheme="http://purl.org/steeple/credit" |
Are there alternative constructs available through Yahoo media or iTunesU? If so, list them here:
