23rd / 24th November - Steeple workshop in Nottingham! The plan is to run the first day (Monday, 23rd) as more of a technical day, and Tuesday (24th) as a more general day. You can attend either or both days, and for those who want to stay on, there's also the opportunity to attend Nottingham's Opencontent conference on the 25th.
Please let me know whether you would like to attend (which days), and what your interests would be. The workshop is yours, so we'll accommodate whatever requests there may be! (... within reason!)

[edit] 2 Monday, 23rd, November
The idea for this day is to actually get some concrete technical work done! So it should be a day well-worth attending, that might help to shorten development time back at your institution!
- Don't have a web portal for your video? Build your own! In preparation for the workshop, get your feeds in order (see Syndication). At the workshop, build your own portal using a choice between the Steeple java portal code or the http://www.opencontent.org.uk php code. (Both are open source.)
- The software is provided, and can be used on our demo environment
- You would connect your feeds to the software, and apply your institutional web style
- At the end of the workshop, you can take the portal home to deploy it at your institution.
- OUTPUTS: BR/Workshop November 2009 Nottingham/portal
- Get to know Podcast Producer 2. Using the demo environment, learn how to set up podcast producer, how to submit media, how to write workflows. Following the workshop, you would be able to continue to use the demo environment.
- Matterhorn in the UK. What can Matterhorn do? How do we engage with Matterhorn in the UK? - live video conference with Chris Brookes from the Opencast Matterhorn project
Useful skills: To take full advantage of this, some technical skills would be useful, e.g. some html/css skills to install templates. Perhaps some java or php. For podcast producer, some expertise of OS X would be useful, but it not required!
